Our brigade currently has two appliances available for immediate turnout from our own station. Any additional appliances that may be required are provided by neighbouring stations with permanent crews (i.e., career firefighters). These include Avalon (Station 41), Trentham (Station 48), and Rimutaka (Station 49).

We also have one operational support vehicle, which is used for general transportation purposes. This vehicle can respond to an emergency with the use of flashing beacons, if required.

Our two appliances are as follows:

Stokes Valley 431

(This is an older photograph that was taken when the top half of the crew cab was painted white. The cab has since been replaced and the entire chasis is now red.)

Model: Dennis DF133
Year: 1983
Body manufacturer: Mills Tui
Registration number: LH1336
Pump manufacturer: Darley
Pump model: SEH 750
Pump type: 6/3 Heavy
Tank capacity: 1,550 litres
Pump capacity: 61 litres/second

This appliance was the only cab and chasis model DF133 that was put into service in New Zealand, as it was a trial version only, and the NZFS eventually opted for the DF135. It has been in service with the Stokes Valley brigade since 1995.
